TenantBill is Wattey Energy’s photo-verified sub-metering and tenant-billing platform for multi-unit commercial property — malls, plazas, and buildings that sub-bill many shops off one electricity connection. Every reading is backed by a timestamped photo, and each month closes into an immutable, audited record.

How does photo verification work?

A field operator captures each meter reading in a mobile app together with a timestamped photograph of the meter face. The portal validates every reading against its own image before it is billed, so each charge is traceable back to visual proof.

What is the Power Ledger?

The Power Ledger compares the building’s total incoming supply against the sum of every tenant meter. The gap is line loss — theft, a failing meter, or un-metered load — so an operator can see not just each bill, but where energy is disappearing across the whole property.

Can a closed month be changed later?

No. When a billing cycle closes, TenantBill freezes it into an immutable, audited snapshot that cannot be silently rewritten. Corrections happen transparently in a new cycle, so the record stays defensible.

How are bills calculated?

Every invoice derives from one published formula applied consistently to all tenants — meter readings, tariff, and any shared charges — so tenants can see exactly how their bill was produced rather than trusting a number.

How is TenantBill different from WattEY Sub-Billing?

TenantBill is the commercial, per-unit deployment for malls and plazas. WattEY Sub-Billing is the residential, per-person version for shared-living buildings. Both sit within the WattEY platform.

The Power Ledger — the whole building made legible

Most billing tools stop at the invoice. TenantBill’s Power Ledger goes one step further: it takes the building’s total incoming supply and subtracts what every tenant meter recorded. Whatever’s left is line loss — theft, a failing meter, or un-metered load. An operator sees not just each shop’s bill, but exactly where energy (and money) is leaking across the property.

It runs today in a shopping mall in Punjab, sub-billing shops from a single connection.

How TenantBill works

Step 1

Capture

A field operator records each reading in the app with a timestamped photo of the meter face.

Step 2

Validate

The portal checks every reading against its own image before it is allowed into a bill.

Step 3

Bill

Invoices derive from one published formula, applied the same way to every tenant, with arrears tracked.

Step 4

Close

The month freezes into an immutable, audited snapshot that can never be silently rewritten.

Who it’s for

Mall, plaza, and commercial-property operators who sub-bill many shops from one electricity connection and need every charge to be traceable, consistent, and dispute-proof.

Where it fits

TenantBill is part of the WattEY platform — Wattey Energy’s electricity platform for monitoring, control, and billing. It’s the commercial billing piece, alongside residential sub-billing and Solar Performance Cloud for solar owners and AMC for maintenance.
